Empowerment Day a Success!
The blizzard on Saturday, December 19, did not stop neighborhoods teams throughout New York state from collecting over 1,000 signatures on our new petition calling for prison closures, reforms of policies like work release, parole, and merit time, full repeal of the Rockefeller Drug Laws, and reinvestment in communities. Thank you to all of our volunteers who reached out to educate their communities about our campaign for criminal justice reform! Empowerment Day officially kicked off Drop the Rock’s new prison downsizing campaign. Let’s build off of this success and plan the next steps for our campaign!
